Edelweiss Golden Retrievers was started up in 1991 by Renee-Claude Theriault, and was awarded permanent registration with the Canadian Kennel Club in 1992.
Our only breed is the Golden Retriever and our breeding program is not operated as a business but more as a hobby, a passion.
With a view to promoting, improving and protecting our breed, we are active in showing dogs in conformation. We also breed the occasional litter, always attempting to follow the breed standard and improve on what we have.
Our breeding stock have all been examined by veterinary specialists and have obtained health clearances for hips (OFA, OVC), eyes (CERF) and hearts (OFA). We breed only the best representatives, of good temperament, the latter being in our opinion of prime importance.
We may be a trifle biased but we believe that Golden Retrievers are the best dogs in the world. Our dogs are part of the family; we adore them and are so proud of them.
